Product Summary

This unit covers Lectionary Year B Proper 9-12. These lessons explore proclaiming the message with boldness, the blessings of salvation in Christ, being brought into God.s household by the Spirit of Christ, and understanding the love of Christ.

Lesson 1: Finding Boldness--This lesson.s theme is “proclaiming the message with boldness.” God asks us to proclaim His Word in obedience. Sometimes we must tell the truth of God in the face of opposition. How do I know when God wants to say something through me? How do I share His message in love? Does following God always mean that I will face rejection? (Ezekiel 2:1-5; Psalm 123; 2 Corinthians 12:2-10; Mark 6:1-13)

Lesson 2: He Saves--This lesson.s theme is “the blessings of salvation in Christ.” Paul summarizes the spiritual blessings that are ours in Jesus--we are adopted, redeemed, forgiven, chosen and sealed--and the list goes on. Just what happens when we come to believe in Jesus Christ? (1 Sam 15:34-16:13; Psalm 20; 2 Corinthians 5:6-17; Mark 4:26-34)

Lesson 3: In or Out--This lesson.s theme is “being brought into God.s household by the Spirit of Christ.” In Christ, the “outsiders” have become the insiders. Those who feel far away from God (like the Gentiles) have been brought near to Him. Are we allowing anything to separate us from God? Jesus has come to remove those barriers. Do we know anyone who feels far away from God? (Jeremiah 23:1-6; Psalm 23; Ephesians 2:11-22; Mark 6:30-34, 53-56)

Lesson 4: Indescribable, Immeasurable and Infinite!--This lesson.s theme is “understanding the love of Christ.” We are loved beyond our ability to comprehend. As we begin to realize the depths of the love of Christ, we begin to see that He is also able to do more than we can imagine in our lives. Am I rooted and established in the love of Christ? (2 Kings 4:42-44; Psalm 14; Ephesians 3:14-21; John 6:1-21)
