The Gospel of Luke follows Jesus from his birth up to his last days with his disciples and his ascension into heaven. This quarter’s articles examine much of the cultural background of the ministry of Jesus, including Jewish priests and festivals, Sabbath observance, the ancient justice system, and even pig farming! We’ll also look at the history of several ministry locations, like Capernaum and Nain, and examine a few of Luke’s particular theological emphases, like the Holy Spirit and Jesus’s vision of ministry.
